We recently had the pleasure of welcoming students from Kanto Daiichi High School in Tokyo for a cultural exchange that brought learning and friendships to life.
During their time at St James’, the visiting students connected with their buddies through fun icebreaker activities and shared time cooking together, creating both Japanese onigiri and Aussie lamingtons.
Throughout their visit, they joined senior classes and worked with our Junior School students, sharing counting lessons in both English and Japanese — a brilliant example of learning through connection. They even left a lasting impact on our school by helping to paint Indigenous artworks around campus, leaving their mark in a meaningful and collaborative way.
The exchange concluded with a farewell lunch and a special performance of “We Are Australian,” a fitting way to celebrate our time together.
A heartfelt thank you to our friends from Kanto Daiichi High School. We loved learning with you andlook forward to staying connected in the years ahead.
