On the first day of Term 2, Mrs Syme and three of our Year 10 Anglicare Ambassadors visited Anglicare WA at their Joondalup office for an insightful and meaningful learning experience. The students were given a guided tour of the centre, including the welcoming child counselling rooms, and gained a deeper understanding of the eight different services provided to support individuals and families across the region.
The Joondalup office supports a wide community, stretching from Yanchep to Perth, and from Mirrabooka to Midland. Throughout the visit, the Ambassadors learnt about the many ways Anglicare WA assists those in need, with a particular focus on financial counselling services that help individuals and families navigate challenging circumstances.
As part of the visit, they proudly donated 10 bags of non-perishable food items, collected during our Term 1 House Charity Day. These items will support families accessing the service who may require additional assistance. This visit was a valuable opportunity for our students to see firsthand the impact of community support and to strengthen their understanding of service learning in action.
