We were delighted to welcome Tracey Roberts MP, Federal Member for Pearce, to St James’ Anglican School to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our two recent Gold Level Awardees of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, Keeley and Marissa.
Both Year 12 students began their Duke of Edinburgh journey in Year 9 at Bronze Level and, over the past three and a half years, have demonstrated remarkable commitment, resilience and determination to complete all three levels of the Award – Bronze, Silver and Gold.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award challenges young people to develop skills, build physical fitness, undertake adventurous journeys and contribute to their communities through volunteering. Completing the Gold Award is a significant achievement and reflects the girls’ perseverance and willingness to embrace challenges beyond the classroom.
During her visit, Tracey presented Keeley and Marissa with beautiful flowers and a personal character reference recognising their achievements and the qualities they have demonstrated throughout their Award journey.
We are incredibly proud of Keeley and Marissa and the dedication they have shown over the past three and a half years. Their achievement is a wonderful example of the spirit of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and an inspiration to the many students at St James’ who are following in their footsteps.
