On Tuesday, 26 April, staff from St James’ along with other members of the Anglican Schools Commission Inc. (ASC), came together virtually to participate in the annual ASC Christian Purpose Day.
Held online for the first time, members of the ASC were invited to take part in several webinars including keynote speaker, The Reverend Dr Daniel Heischman, Executive Director, National Association of Episcopal Schools, USA, discussing Anglican identity and how we can uphold our Anglican identity in an ever-changing education environment.
The Reverend Dr Daniel Heischman discussed what faith is and how reason, worship, inclusion and character of service make up our Anglican identity. St James’ as part of the ASC promotes these values, creating consistency of learning, understanding and compassion across all ASC schools.
Together, the ASC members learned about what generosity of spirit means in 2022. How we can create and uphold a welcoming nature for all current and new students within St James’, setting the right tone and environment to encourage our students to strive for their best and be the best version of themselves.
The day concluded by recognising staff who have served 20 plus years of service within the ASC. It was with great pleasure that St James’ announce our very own Mr Peter Brown who has been part of the Anglican Schools Commission for 35 years. Congratulations on your service, you are a wealth of knowledge and an asset to the Orange Army.
