We recently celebrated the achievements of our Class of 2024 with a heartfelt Valedictory Celebration spread over two memorable days.
Day One: Whole School Assembly and Celebration Activities
The festivities commenced on Wednesday with a Whole School Assembly, where students, staff, and families gathered to recognise the remarkable journey of the Class of 2024. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as the graduates took a triumphant lap of honour through the school, celebrating their accomplishments amidst cheers and applause from their peers.
A highlight of the day was the sweet moment shared between the graduates and our Pre-Primary students. Together, they enjoyed delicious cupcakes, symbolising the joyful bonds formed throughout their time at St James’.
Adding a personal touch to the celebrations, the graduates left their mark by handprinting their hands on a designated wall and writing inspiring messages for future students. This mural will serve as a lasting reminder of their time at St James’ and their aspirations for those who follow in their footsteps.
Day Two: Valedictory Eucharist and Ceremony
The celebration continued on Thursday with a Valedictory Eucharist, where the students were formally presented with their sashes. This significant ceremony allowed the graduates to reflect on their journey, express gratitude to their teachers and families, and embrace the next chapter of their lives.
Following the Eucharist, the school community gathered in the Djinda Sports Centre for a grand ceremony attended by family and friends. The atmosphere was vibrant with joy as graduates were recognised for their achievements. Heartfelt speeches highlighted their growth, resilience, and the memories created during their years at St James’.
As the Class of 2024 embarks on new adventures, the Valedictory Celebrations served as a beautiful reminder of the love and support they have received from their school community. We wish them all the best as they take their next steps, knowing they will carry the spirit of St James’ with them wherever they go. Congratulations, Class of 2024!
