Today we proudly hosted our Term 3 House Charity Day, an event that brings our school community together in the spirit of giving and compassion.
It was another incredible response from our community to our Twilight House Charity Day, with thousands of essential items generously donated for people in need in our local community. Donations included items such as clothing, toiletries, books, and stationery.
In addition to our House Charity Day, we are also hosting another session of our beloved Cub Sandwiches program. This initiative sees our community come together to prepare sandwiches for people in need in our community. Each session sees volunteers of all ages working side by side in preparing 1000 sandwiches with care and love. We continue to support the following primary schools with their breakfast and lunch programs in partnership with Eat Up: Clarkson PS, Alkimos Beach PS, Alkimos PS, Yanchep Rise PS, Merriwa PS, Somerly PS.
Our House Charity Days and the Cub Sandwiches program have become a cornerstone of community service at St James’, reflecting our school’s dedication to instilling values of service and social responsibility in our students. For items donated have gone towards supporting the following charities: Food4All, Salvation Army centre in Merriwa, Lionheart, Ronald McDonald House, AEGIS Shorehaven, and six op shops in Butler and Clarkson. We believe in the importance of service and support for people less fortunate, and today’s events are a beautiful demonstration of that ethos in action.
