Role Overview:
Are you passionate about technology and making a positive impact in the lives of students? We’re seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Level 1 IT Technician. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide essential technical support to ensure our students have access to the tools and resources they need to succeed. From troubleshooting computer issues to assisting with software installations, you will play a crucial role in helping our students thrive in the digital age, while ensuring the smooth operation of our Apple based IT systems and enhancing the educational experience through effective technology solutions.
 
Please note the successful candidate will be required to provide or complete a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, with a focus on Mac-based systems.
  • Respond to helpdesk requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT equipment, including Mac computers, printers, projectors, and other peripherals.
  • Support the implementation and management of educational software and applications on Apple and Windows devices.
  • Assist with user account management and access permissions.
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and IT procedures accurately.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to implement technology initiatives, improvements, and best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students on the use of IT resources.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in IT or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts, with a focus on Mac systems.
  • Previous experience in a similar support role, with a focus on Apple systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
