At St James’, fostering a robust sense of community lies at the core of our educational philosophy. We firmly believe that education transcends traditional classrooms, prompting us to actively champion community engagement through an array of services, events, associations and programs.
These endeavours are not merely aspects of our school; they mirror our commitment to positively impact both, our school community and the broader local community.
An example of this commitment is our active involvement in Food4All, a weekly food rescue and community relief program run by volunteers from Yanchep Community Church and the local community. Through this initiative, Food4All gathers leftover fresh food, or ‘seconds,’ donated by local supermarkets, with generous contributions from the St James’ school community. The collected food is then distributed to families and individuals in need, making a significant impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity.
What sets Food4All apart is its simplicity and inclusivity—no concession cards or referrals are required; it is quite simply Food4All, embodying the essence of community support.
St James’ takes great pride in playing a pivotal role in supporting the wider school community through our contributions to Food4All. Looking ahead to 2024, we are excited about increasing our donations, further deepening our relationship with Food4All, and expanding our positive influence on the community. Our commitment to fostering a strong sense of community remains steadfast, exemplifying our belief in the transformative power of collective care and support.
