Our Year 4 students recently welcomed the Water Corporation for an incursion, aligned with our current HASS and science programs on sustainability, Indigenous practices, and soil and rock.
The presentation began with a discussion on the importance of water and the vital role it plays in our daily lives. Students were also introduced to the concept of desalination and learned about the future Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant project.
Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to participate in engaging activities that focused on promoting positive water behaviours and water-saving habits. They also learned about the negative impact of water wastage and how small changes in their daily routines can make a big difference in conserving this precious resource.
The incursion not only provided valuable information on water conservation and sustainability but also highlighted the importance of caring for our environment and incorporating Indigenous practices into our daily lives. It was a hands-on learning experience that left students feeling inspired and empowered to make a positive impact on their community and the world.
Thank you to the Water Corporation for helping us educate our students on the importance of water conservation and sustainable practices.
